There we were in the Royal Oak, urging, encouraging and hoping for the deserved draw at Celta Vigo this afternoon, sadly the home team dashed our hopes with a well crafted Muchu goal just before the end of the game. Suspended defender Pablo Sicilia became an honourary member of the Armada Sur joining us as part of his weekend trip south, he had of course already visited Soy Del Tete, the Tenerife fan shop.
Celta pushing for top spot looked strong early on but after surviving a Melli goal line clearance Tenerife gave as good as they got and Dubarbier even put the ball in the net but it was a shade offside. Nino and Melli went close, the second half saw a welcome return for Mikel Alonso but another early departure for new midfielder Kitoko, this time with an injury.
Next weekend it’s a Friday night game at 8 pm home to Xerez, well anything to please the television companies. Pablo will be back on the pitch and the fans will be back on the terraces, hopefully the revival will also be back on track.
