Tenerife is full of wonderful places to spend a day either with a group of friends or family, as a couple or by yourself. In fact here at Tenerife Magazine, we are often telling people how much more there is to do on the island than what most imagine. You can go stargazing up Mount Teide, one of the highest volcanoes in the world, explore incredible forests, wander around the many fascinating urban areas dotted around, see whales and dolphins in the wild, go paragliding, take a helicopter flight, and a whole host of other amazing experiences!
Despite all of this, we simply cannot deny that Tenerife is an incredible destination to get away from all the stress of everyday life, with gorgeous blue skies and warm sunny weather to enjoy! We definitely recommend exploring some of the island to get a true idea of all that Tenerife has to offer, but if you are looking for a relaxing day, then Oasis Los Gigantes is the perfect place for a great day out. While most hotels and resorts you may choose to stay at have a pool, there are few that offer anything that even manages to get close to this awesome setting and atmosphere.
This fantastic leisure center is located in the wonderful town of Los Gigantes in the South-West of the island. The town derives its name from the Ancantilados de Los Gigantes (Cliffs of the Giants). If you have never been to Los Gigantes before, the first time you see these cliffs you will see why their name needs no explanation; they are absolutely enormous!! In fact, these are some of the highest sea cliffs in the world and are definitely one of the most impressive sights in not just Tenerife but all of the Canary Islands.
As soon as you enter Oasis Los Gigantes you will be treated to a gorgeous setting with verdant green grass, beautiful tall palm trees and many other wonderful plants that really gives a tropical feel. While much of Tenerife can be quite dry, especially in the south and towards the coast, Oasis really does live up to its name as it stands out as an oasis of green and blue in contrast to the surrounding dry landscape and buildings.
The main attraction, of course, is the impressive infinity pool which has absolutely incredible views. It’s no exaggeration to say that there are few swimming pools in the Canary Islands with such a stunning panoramic vista. When you are swimming or relaxing in the pool you will be directly surrounded by palm trees, green grass, the poolside bar and plenty of sun loungers for topping up your tan.
From the infinity side of the pool, there is a spectacular view out to the ocean, while gazing towards the beach style entrance at the other end of the pool outwards you will be astounded by the incredible Ancantilados de Los Gigantes rising majestically from the water. The views are so incredible that they barely seem real and almost certainly beats staying at your hotel pool. We’re in no doubt that this setting will leave you feeling totally relaxed!

Oasis Los Gigantes is much more than just a pool and views though. There is ample space all around for relaxing on sun loungers, either at the newly renovated terrace area next to the pool or on the verdant green grass under the palm trees where you can really enjoy that tropical oasis vibe. For those that enjoy a little more privacy and luxury, there are beautiful Bali beds which can be booked. These are set away from the main chill out areas, with some located down steps near the infinity side of the pool with views out to the ocean.
There is another even more private gated VIP area with a Deluxe Bali bed and sun-bathing area with sun loungers, and your own shower. Here, in this quieter setting away from the pool and behind the grass and palm trees you will be treated to exclusive views out to the ocean and incredible Los Gigantes cliffs. You can relax here in complete tranquility and even close the curtains on the Bali bed for that added feeling of privacy.

The main saltwater pool is perfect for swimming or simply relaxing at the infinity end, admiring the views. It is also safe for older children and teenagers with its beach style entrance on one side which gradually slopes down on the opposite end from the infinity side. As well as having a beautiful setting, the pool is also a lot of fun for adults and kids alike with a brand new slide which you’ll be sure to find yourself zipping down multiple times during your day at Oasis. For the younger kids, there is a super fun children’s pool with plenty of water games that the kids will be sure to love!
If you start to get thirsty or hungry, then at Oasis Los Gigantes you will be well catered for, either at the pool-side bar which has a variety of different hot and cold beverages including beers, cocktails, soft drinks, fruit juices, coffee or tea. You can enjoy your drinks at the bar seating area looking out to sea or take your drinks back to your sun lounger, the choice is entirely yours.
At the restaurant, you will be spoilt for choice with a huge variety of different meals to suit all different tastes and preferences including a variety of different starters, salads, meat and fish dishes, pasta, pizza, hamburgers, tortillas, paella and more. There is also a children’s menu, plus delicious desserts to finish off for an added bit of indulgence.
Speaking of added indulgence, to ease any aches and pains you may be feeling from that stressful job back home, you can enjoy total relaxation with a massage which can be booked onsite. If you are feeling a bit more energetic, as well as swimming and sliding down the pool, you can also play a game of bowls or tennis.
As you can probably tell, Oasis Los Gigantes is a lot more than just a pool with a view, but an awesome leisure centre with an amazing setting where you can do as little or as much as you choose, indulge in some luxury and enjoy some quality time with your friends, family or significant other. It really is the perfect place for a great day out!
