Starring: Milla Jovovich

Plot: Plot? Plot? You want a plot? This is a Resident Evil movie. Alice continues on her never ending quest to seek out fellow survivors following the catastrophic zombie apocalypse which provided material for five previous films. This time super sexy, super tough Alice finds herself fighting off her gruesome opponents in the confines of a prison in the city of angels.

TM Rating: Great computer games rarely make good movies and Resident Evil, moody and sphincter-clenching frightening in game form, didn’t break that mould when it was released some years ago. The fact that it wasn’t a very good film, didn’t stop it from being successful enough to spawn 5 mediocre sequels of which Afterlife is the latest. This time it’s in 3D, but that doesn’t change the fact that it’s more of what we’ve seen before and the dialogue is cringe-worthy. Still if you liked any of the previous million Resident Evil movies, chances are you’ll like this one.

4/10 ““ Nothing original or new, just mindless painting by number film-making ““ okay if you like action and no real content, but discerning movie fans will be pining even more for Gran Sur’s previous v.o. offering, Inception. This time I”M rooting for the zombies in the hope that one of them will put an end to this once and for all.
